Stony Brook Bioswale
Stormwater management and park improvements
Fall 2006
In the early 1900s the Stony Brook waterway in Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, MA was forced underground, due to pressures of urban growth along its banks.
This project proposes a partial day-lighting of the Stony Brook in the form of a bio-swale along the Southwest Corridor Park, near its former channel. The new water feature would naturally filter stormwater runoff, provide a public amenity, and re-connect the neighborhood to it's geographic history.
