Light + Landscape

A tension fabric installation

Fall 2007

A proposal created for the Bozeman Public Library in Bozeman, MT. The project explores how a translucent textile addition might create an inviting outdoor space for cafe seating and add interest to the building's facade.

Inspiration for the design was drawn from contemporary tension fabric structures and the soft quality of light under tented spaces. Using a high-tech laminate fabric with a grid-like internal structure further suggests sport and mountaineering equipment, echoing the outdoor spirit of the citizens of Bozeman.
